Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies and local-storage entries Desk2Destinations uses, and how you can control them.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files saved to your browser by websites you visit. Local storage works similarly but stays only in your browser and isn't sent back to the server.
2. What we use ourselves
Our site doesn't set any tracking or advertising cookies. We use your browser's local storage for two small things:
- d2d-theme — remembers whether you chose dark or light mode.
- d2d-liked-{post} — remembers which posts you've liked so the heart stays filled and you can't double-like.
Neither of these contains personal data or leaves your browser.
3. Third-party cookies
The following embedded services may set their own cookies when their widget loads on a page:
- Cusdis (comments) — uses a small cookie for spam protection and to remember your comment author name. See Cusdis privacy policy.
- Unsplash / Wikimedia / Instagram — image and embed hosts may set cookies when their resources load.
4. Controlling cookies
You can clear or block cookies any time through your browser settings. Doing so will:
- Reset your theme preference to default.
- Make liked posts forget they were liked.
- Possibly prevent comments from displaying or being submitted.
To clear local storage specifically, open your browser's developer tools and remove entries under "Local Storage" for desk2destinations.com.
5. Do-not-track
We don't track you in any case, so DNT signals don't change our behaviour. We still recommend enabling DNT — it discourages third parties from profiling.
6. Updates
If we add new services or cookies, we'll update this list and the "Last updated" date above.
