- Comments: when you leave a comment, the name and message you submit are stored by our comments provider (Cusdis) and displayed publicly.
- Contact form: if you reach out via the contact page, we receive your name, email, and message so we can reply.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: aggregated, anonymous analytics about which posts are read, referring sites, browser type, and approximate location (country/city).
- Like counts: the like button uses an anonymous shared counter — no personal data is sent, only a "+1" to a public counter per post.
- Local storage: we remember in your browser whether you've already liked a post (so the heart stays filled) and your theme preference (dark or light).
2. How we use information
- To display comments and respond to messages you send us.
- To understand which content is useful so we can write more of it.
- To improve site performance and fix bugs.
3. Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party tools. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Cusdis — comments. Cusdis privacy.
- Abacus (jasoncameron.dev) — anonymous like counter.
- Unsplash / Wikimedia — image hosting.
- GitHub Pages — site hosting. May log IP addresses for security.
4. Cookies
We do not use first-party cookies for tracking. Third-party embeds (comments, images) may set their own cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
5. Your rights
You can request deletion of any comment you've posted by emailing us through the contact page with the post title and the approximate date of the comment. We respond within a reasonable timeframe.
6. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. Changes
If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
